We welcome Pedro Ildefonso, QLUSTER student at Innsbruck University

Pedro completed his MSc in Engineering Physics from the Instituto Superior Técnico at the University of Lisbon. During his MSc program, Pedro specialised in General Relativity with a strong focus on numerical methods for Black Holes and Ultra Compact Objects simulations. However, his recent interest in Quantum Computing and Quantum Optimisation led him to switch fields to work under the supervision of Professor Wolfgang Lechner on the modelling of interactions between Ultrasoft Rydberg atoms for Quantum Optimisation purposes. His work will involve numerical simulations of quantum master equations and a deep understanding of atom-laser interactions for developing a 4-body coupler using alkaline-earth-metal-like atoms. We welcome Pedro to our research group in Innsbruck and look forward to working and exchanging knowledge with all our QLUSTER partners around Europe.
