European Conference on Quantum and Complex Matter

30 November – 04 December 2026

Strasbourg, France

The European Conference on Quantum and Complex Matter brings together researchers and students working at the forefront of quantum science, soft matter physics, and machine learning for quantum systems. The conference is a joint event of two doctoral training networks — QLUSTER and MLQ — which together span research groups across seven EU countries and unite communities that have historically developed in parallel: classical and quantum soft matter on one hand, and machine learning and quantum science on the other. By bringing these communities into the same room, the conference creates a rare opportunity to exchange ideas across disciplinary boundaries, from the physics of complex polymers and Rydberg atoms to machine learning-accelerated materials discovery and quantum computing.

The program is designed to foster genuine scientific exchange between communities that share deep conceptual connections but rarely meet. Whether you work on the theory or experiment of strongly correlated systems, on quantum simulation, on ultrasoft matter, or on data-driven approaches to quantum problems, you will find a stimulating environment for both formal and informal discussion. The conference particularly welcomes doctoral researchers and early-career scientists, reflecting the training mission at the heart of both QLUSTER and MLQ. We look forward to welcoming you for a few days of science, collaboration, and new connections.
